Race along the 71-mile scenic route with both modern and classic traction in Train Sim World 3: Scottish East Coast Main Line: Aberdeen to Dundee

Hello, I would like to suggest the Aberdeen to Dundee Line for Train Sim World 3 because of the scenic views offered along the line and it has great scenario potential (shown below) and also it is my local route

    Stock included:

The British Rail Class 158 'Express Sprinter'

The British Rail Class 170 'Turbostar'

The British Rail Class 43 HST 'Inter7City edition' (added bonus, it's on the suggested route somewhere, try guess where it is!!!)

    Class 170 Introduction
    Class 43 Inter7City Introduction

    Scenarios:
    Angus Stopper: (Difficulty - 2)

    Crazy Crowds: (Difficulty - 2)
Cove Rangers is playing Dundee in the Scottish Championship, with large crowds expected to travel by train, drive a Class 43 Inter7City set with 5 coaches from Aberdeen to Dundee, calling only at intermediate stations along the way

    Broken Barriers: (Difficulty - 4)
The barriers at Carnoustie level crossing have failed meaning there is an emergency speed restriction of 10mph over the crossing, drive a Class 170 from Dundee to Aberdeen in foggy conditions keeping in mind the ESR at Carnoustie

    Montrose Terminator: (Difficulty - 1)
ScotRail have introduced a new service from Inverurie/Aberdeen to Montrose as part of the Aberdeen Crossrail project, start a Class 158 from cold at Clayhills depot, bring the train into Aberdeen then drive the first train of the day to Montrose, calling at all stations

    Delayed Parliamentary: (Difficulty - 2)
Drive a late-running Class 170 from Arbroath to Dundee calling at the three parliamentary stations along with Carnoustie, Monifieth and Broughty Ferry, but with an Inter7City HST behind, you don't want to delay it too much

Thanks a lot for this detailed suggestion - the first intro sentence could be directly from a Steam page, advertising a product just released. ^^

Looks like a scenic route, with some remarkable stations at both ends - here's a lovely video btw: https://youtu.be/hyOOrOe2IgI?t=221
Wikipedia does mention a single track section, but I couldn't spot it in the video - did I missed it or is it double track these days?

And as usual - are there any freight services on this route?

Wow! Amazing! You'll be pleased to hear TrainGeek08 that I also suggested this not too long ago.

I'd love a route with a Caledonian Sleeper. With Midland Mainline the Class 158 could be recycled a bit to make the Scotrail one. The GWR HST could be recycled a bit for the inter7city and the only train that needs to be built from scratch would be the class 170! This could be a great idea for rivet to do! As usual, I love the suggestion! Well done!

Thanks Jasper, yes the single track section is between Montrose and Usan and it still exists

On freight, Class 70s come up here regularly on chemical services to/from Aberdeen to various destinations in Scotland and England like Workington, Mossend, Oxwellmains

I believe some go from Aberdeen to my local area such as the paper mill near Irvine or Barassie sidings! I see alot of Class 70's running through my local line!

Found the single track section: it starts from 5:05 in the video and ends at 5:11 in the video if that helps 😉

I love the scenario ideas TrainGeek08! That sounds like great fun to play!
I think the layers are a great idea but concidering that train layering on to other routes from this DLC would need a new livery I think those layers are unlikely to happen. But a really good suggestion all the same!
