  • TSW 3 | West Cornwall Local: Steam Railtour | OUT NOW!

We announced our latest add-on at the beginning of January - now, we’re happy to share more information with you: The West Cornwall Steam Railtour will arrive in Train Sim World March 14th!

This pack will take you on a variety of steaming adventures on the West Cornwall Local route. Expect challenging rides with the LMS Jubilee between Penzance & St. Austell in two all new liveries (Crimson Red & Black). We’ve also retrofitted the LMS Jubilee with an AWS system, a speedometer and an updated, battery powered taillight (replacing the old lanterns). Watch out for the custom headboards you can toggle!
The hilly nature of our West Cornwall route will present you with a true challenge - you might wanna have a look at our upcoming tips & tricks video on how to drive a steam locomotive properly.

Included in this pack are 5 scenarios and 4 services on West Cornwall Local. We also brought the LMS Jubilee to our Edinburgh - Glasgow route: There’s a new railtour service waiting for you with the Black Jubilee, as well as two new railtours with the Class 37/5. The best thing about it: The only add-on required is our West Cornwall Local route - nothing else.

Oh, and if you’re still in a festive mood (hey, why not?): There’s a festive scenario included with the coaches wrapped in Christmas lights. Both the red and black livery of the LMS Jubilee are also available in a festive theme, with a little extra surprise hidden in the cab that’ll make you feel even more festive! 🎶

Unless you mean the steam railtours, but thats a new DLC??? I dont understand

Surely it wouldn't be difficult to have layers from the Spirit of steam dlc substitute in for these new services for those who don't have this new dlc?

I don't really understand what's the point of that? We retrofitted the Jubilee with AWS and a speedometer to make it accurate for the time WCL is set in. Layering in the older steam trains would probably cause someone to complain again.

Well dovetail games did it on a newer route and i seen no complaints about that??? Also away you go the difference is hardly noticeable. Wouldn't hurt to layer it in (also people complained about the Class 40 being layered in but you defended that decision so make your minds up you hypocrites)

    How much will this cost?

I hope that Rivet have improved the horrendous scenery flaws which make WCL look like a fictional fantasy route and is an insult to Cornish residents.

So from what it sounds like you won't need spirit of steam to use this add on?
Also will along with the 2 steam locos and 37/5 will the passenger cars and wagons needed for this add be included as well?

If you don't have SoS then I suggest leaving it until release to find out.

This looks really cool! Did you say that this would be free to owners of West Cornwall Local? So does that mean if I own Edinburgh to Glasgow and west Cornwall Local do I get this for free?

I'm not too bothered about the peak forest route. I'll wait for the livestreams before I decide to buy it or not. The thing I'm most excited for right now is midland mainline! I can't wait for the Class 158!!

Nah, sorry for the confusion. All we were trying to say was that you don't need the "Spirit of Steam" addon for this new Steam Railtour pack. 😅

I think the steam railtour is add on you have to buy,but you need west cornwall to use it and if you also have the glasgow route you'll get a railtour for that as well.

That's not too bad. It's really annoying how the prices have gone up but I suppose cost of living crisis. They'll have to give their employees a raise and still try to pay the bills for the studios. I can't imagine how difficult that is.

Well at least for the 3 people who didn't buy SOS here's a chance to get a steam engine a little less expensively.

That's true! I just hope the train doesn't have any new bugs.

I doubt there will be bugs for the most part. Just hope the notorious SPAD issue dosen't get carried over from SOS.

Some in another TSW forum seem to want to poo poo as thought also getting another 37/5 is some how a pointless endeavor to add.Well this is for it's own railtour service as well, not just on west corn wall but glasgow to besides getting 2 locos is always better then one when both are used well.

Really like this Rail tour pack. Locomotives are what Rivet do well and the scenarios are different, thoughtful and entertaining.

Rivet stick to doing what you are good at, replicating locomotives and leave the route building to specialist developers as Rivet cannot recreate scenery. Glad to see Truro Cathedral looking better. What about doing the rest of the shambolic inaccurate scenery now. Some hope I know!!!

I'll be honest. Half the reason I'd buy this is so I could have a fake Jacobite service. 😂

Wow! What an amazing route that would be! 🤤🙂
If they get the Class 156 right. Recycle some stuff from WCL for the class 37 and stuff from SOS or their steam pack for the Jacobite and it'll be great!!! I'd be sooo happy if that route got made. I went on it last year and I couldn't stop taking photos of the beautiful scenery on the line. If they make it I'll be the happiest man alive!

BlackwolfTR, I believe there is a freight area at Fort William that does some shunting of freight and Jacobite coaches.

Introduction Hello, welcome back to another suggestion by me. This suggestion was inspired by a potential hint by jasper. Similar to the first hint I had about the class 385 a few months before it was anounced. So I thought I'd make a suggestion for it. Anyway. I've been on this line before and it's fantastic! I had my camera

                  Ok. Done.
