I'm really looking forward to stopping at Edinburgh Park! I actually stayed in a hotel right next to the station with a great view towards the Class 385's and tams. I stayed at the premier Inn right next to it so we took the tram all the time. Right past the mainline! Quick question about the trams: Will we be able to ride the trams or will it just be a visible but not rideable/driveable train like on Kassel Wuïrzburg?

Hi Nathan, no, the trams are just AI vehicles. On the latest article on DTG Live you can find a more detailed insight about the (driveable and non-driveable) services: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/...dable-lowlands

Yes, but can we get on the trams? Or is it considered out of bounds for the players?

In this post I have a little question about the interior PIS of the Class 385!

I've been watching through some 385 interior shots and...
Looks like the interior PIS are green (look photo below)

But in the DevBlog it was shown orange... Not sure if y'all are aware of it or not. Since its still WIP it would be nice to see that changed before release, depends how hard it is the only change the colour (it sounds atleast easy)!

Yea, I tried pointing this out but I didn't have any photos to compare it with. It should also scroll through what the anouncements say almost like subtitles and not just stay on the final station.

Also, it's a completely different font and style. Please change it to be more realistic.

Hopefully they will have a look at it and do it better! Just final destination looks but off...

Some slight patterns and colours missing as you can see. It's not an essential detail but it is something that's missing that would be nice to get done properly. Thanks.

Just letting you know. For me, this route with the Class 385 is the best route to come to Train Sim world so far! I'm so happy about this route. When I buy it, I'll be playing it non-stop and definitely being a gaurd on it 24/7! 😁

Question about the PIS: Does the Jingle for the anouncements only occur when you manually play an anouncement and is it automatic when it's auto anounced? Or was the jingle just cut out from the Short about the PIS anouncements?

From what I have seen, the attention to detail looks really impressive. It’s a pity the same cannot be said about West Cornwall. Come on Rivet please bring WCL up to an acceptable and expected level.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR OUR PLAY STATION PLAYERS!

We're really sorry about this, but together with Dovetail, we've decided that we need to delay the PlayStation version (and ONLY the PlayStation version) until next Tuesday (31st January 2023). For everyone else, ScotRail eXpress: Edinburgh - Glasgow will release this Thursday, as announced.

Why? While testing, we found some problems with the TMS screen on PlayStation only, which would affect your gameplay experience with it.

                We're verry sorry about this!

Jasper_Rivet can you explain why Stirling branch hasn’t been added yet and if you are going to in a future release, as by this station being on rivets doors step it’s a bit crazy not to see this station also

Pretty sure it's because Glasgow to Edinburgh is already a huge amount of work to put together, especially for a small team like Rivet. This includes two large termination points that didn't exist in the game until now. That already takes up a lot of development time. Matt described the route as being another "London to Brighton" in a stream once. So even if DTG had made it, the inclusion of the Stirling branch wouldn't have been likely due to the sheer scope of the route.

With that said however, I'd love to see a route extension to Stirling (plus Dunblane and Alloa) just as much! Glasgow - Edinburgh was probably chosen because it's more marketable. But hey, maybe the Rivet team will consider it if there's enough demand

I just wanted to express my utmost support for the idea of adding a Stirling/Dunblane or Alloa branches, preferably with a new unit/train. I would be happy to pay for it as a DLC. Example might be the Meissen branch in Dresden-Riesa.

I second that. Scots Rail Express is impressive. Now Rivet have learnt how to beautifully craft a route, l hope they will turn their attention to doing the same with the appalling WCL in the new expansion pack!!!

After seeing the community updates and the preview, I'll just share my updated thoughts:

                      Pros:
+ Environment: I really appreciate the unique buildings and interiors. They add more life to stations and make them look less generic. The pianos are a neat addition as well.
+ Exploration: It's great to have access to elevators and hidden areas at stations to explore. Walking around Arosa was one of my favorite parts of the Arosa Line, so it's great to see routes like Isle of Wight 2022 and Glasgow - Edinburgh giving room for walking around as well.
+ Train announcements: this was a long requested feature by the community and it's great to see something like this for the first time without installing third party mods.
+ Length: 47 miles is pretty good length for a standard priced route, with logical ending points and full length runs having an average journey time of about 50 minutes.
+ Inclusion of an AI-tram: this really adds more life to the Edinburgh area. It's a pity you can't board it, but nice to have nonetheless.

                      Cons:
                      - AI timings and setup time: I know I've complained about this multiple times before, but this has been an issue since the Arosa Line came out. It seems like you have about 3 minutes less to do a full length run compared to the real timetable. 60 seconds of setup time is a step up from previous routes, but still a bit short. It doesn't help that the boarding time at the start is ALSO 60 seconds, which should be LESS than the actual setup time to avoid falling behind right away. This is an example of how to do it right: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48GCdLn2eQs&t=2360s (TSW2: London Commuter 1st Preview)
                      - Some of the scenery between stations looks a bit bland.
                      - Some sound issues, like a 1-second loop as some have pointed out during the preview stream.

                      Suggestions:
~ A route extension to Stirling and beyond. Given that the Rivet studio is based in Stirling, I'm surprised you haven't made that a major focus. But maybe it can still be considered, especially since route extensions are generally highly requested.
~ Make the tram accessible, at least when playing as a passenger. This gives a new perspective between Edinburgh and Edinburgh Park. This could also be an interesting idea for a future route, who knows
~ More polish to the elevators, like placing a poster or travel information inside to make it look more interesting.
~ More detailed route maps. Good examples are the ones found on Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel - Würzburg and Birmingham Cross City.

Overall, pretty good despite some annoying issues. It's also good to hear Matt talk about how some of these features could be implemented in future DTG routes. I may have missed a few things here and there, but I think I've written more than enough here

I've passed these on but one thing I can say from personal experience, the elevators (lifts) actually look better in game than IRL lol and there are no posters in them, no reason to "polish" them up really. You're not playing to ride the lifts ha ha.
