We’re more than proud to share our latest development with you: Scotrail eXpress: Edinburgh - Glasgow will be available on the 26th January for all platforms!

With Edinburgh - Glasgow, we’re finally bringing a Scottish route to Train Sim World - and even better, it’s right before our doorstep as we are a Scottish studio.

Featuring the Class 385, ScotRail's latest flagship train, we’re super excited for you to explore our longest route to date. Read more and see some first images in our blog post here: https://rivet-games.com/2023/01/12/a...burgh-glasgow/

Make sure to check Dovetail Games' Roadmap article, as we’re answering a lot of questions from around the route in there: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/...ry2023-roadmap

Jasper_Rivet are we looking at having the Stirling/Alloa line on this also, or just the E2G line

How much setup time will services have? It better not be limited to 20-30 seconds.

On a positive side, it's great to hear there'll be a good amount of exploring on foot available. That was one of the best parts of the Arosa Line. Also hope that the scenery will be a step up like we saw on Island Line 2022.

Do you know how many services we will have ? AI services? Any layers?

From what I´ve seen so you did a great job! Thanks for a nice late christmas present. If the Stirling/Dunblane branch isn´t included in the base release, I would suggest making loco/unit DLC with the branchline - you have a first customer in line in me for that one! =)

Could we get a preview video showcasing the anouncements please? Jasper_Rivet AmScot01324_Rivet
              That would be great!

Loved the video that you guys posted! Just maybe make a few tweaks such as door sounds and opening/closing speeds of doors. Are the sounds like that only when the train is powered down for the doors in the caridges and between them because if it's for when they are in service as well then that's wrong. It's more like the 377 caridge door sounds. Also, they open really fast, same with the interior cab door. Slow it down a bit if you can. Other than that, it looks great!

I'm sooo happy TMS is included! Well done for including that! Will it be the same voice that voices the Scotrail trains IRL that we hear or will it be an employee/voice actress recording of it?

This route is a dream come true for me and you've included my favourite details. So thank you soo much to the River Games team for making this happen! I can't wait to play it! 😍🙂

Hey there Jasper_Rivet, in the screenshots and videos we have seen so far, the destination board on the 385 has not been displaying any sort of destination. I have a very enquires and requests related to this:

                      1. Will the 385 have a working destination display? Or is this something you’ve left out for this release?

                      2. Will the destination display be dynamic even if it’s on a different route? For example, if I put the 385 on the Island Line, it will display ‘Shanklin’. I ask this because the 385 will without a doubt be used as a layer in future routes, so having a dynamic destination display is important.

                      3. Have you made sure AI trains display their destination? In certain routes (Luzern - Sursee being one), AI trains will have empty destination boards. It would be great if this route had AI trains correctly display their destinations, like in Island Line 2022.

I would really appreciate if you could look into this and answer my questions. Thank you and enjoy your weekend

Also, will the anouncements be the ScotRail voice or is it a staff recording?
Will the anouncements work on other routes or just Edinburgh - Glasgow?

Will there be Platform anouncements or just in train anouncements?
for example: “The train now approaching platform 1 is the 10:29 Scotrail service to Edinburgh Waverly. This train is formed of 7 caridges.”
And “The next train at platform 2 is the 11:27 ScotRail Service to Glasgow Queen Street. Calling at: Falkirk High, Croy, and Glasgow Queen Street. This train is formed of 8 caridges.”
                          And
“The train now approaching platform one will not stop. Please stand back from the platform edge.”

This would be great to see but having anouncements at all is equally as amazing!

                          Many thanks,
                          Nathan.

Really looking forward to this release - I really hope the timetable is made realistically rather than those that have arrival times at stations with random seconds on them. The railway in the UK plans to 30 second intervals and it’s good that some routes have this as it’s far more realistic. I also really hope that the Traction motor sounds cut out when the throttle is set to neutral and you're coasting as per reality...

I absolutely agree! DTG has been doing it as well until Joe found a workaround that eliminates this issue. Now the question is if third parties like Rivet and Skyhook will use this method. Still hope this will get corrected on Luzern - Sursee and the other routes.

The Waverly showcase is interesting but to be honest, it looks kinda dead. There need to be alot more passengers on the concourse and not just on the Platforms.

I believe its a dev build which they used for the showcase so in some shots no passagners were spawning for the services. Moreover the station and it´s surroundings will be demanding on its own, therefore a lot of passengers might make Waverley a very laggy place. I´m not particulary fond of 2D stationary cardboard passangers used in the previous routes either.

BlackwolfTR Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully it doesn't lag too much and hopefully no cardboard passengers. 🙂
