we wanted to give you a quick insight for the next Isle of Wight update, that we already announced.
We're currently working hard on the update to make Isle of Wight even better, but this takes time, due to the way updates are developed and published in Train Sim World. That's why we don't expect the update to be available in the next month. Of course, we'll let you know here and on social media when we got any news, a release date or specific bugfix notes for it.

    We hope you'll understand.
I think you need to check this, this is ALL wrong, DTG have confirmed the update is in testing and will be out soon, please check this as there has been a misunderstanding

Ummm, would you please share your source for this?

I'm a bit confused, I always thought that the developers (we) know best what we're talking about. Maybe you mean the update from last week? Will go back and double-check with our devs though!

Alright, spoke to our developers, they said they started the testing process yesterday afternoon. That might be what Dovetail talked about.

  • I found another issue: During timetable service 2D70 at Brading the doors open at the correct side, but I saw passengers get off the train at the wrong side.

    • Made the HUD consistent with DTG add-ons
    • Improved driver's window audio volume
    • Added seaside environmental audio in appropriate locations

    • Is there any 4 car services on iow also how come ai trains don't have headlights or passenger lights on?

      Comment

      • Thank you for all the fixes. I really appreciate that. Three comments though:

        1. I do not hear sea gulls despite the seaside sound update. Or did I miss something here?

EDIT: saw them now. Thanks a lot for this!

        2. The Engineering Interruption scenario is really bad and needs revision of a competent scenario developer. The good news is that I can complete it now, though I have seen reports of people that still fail to complete it due to technical issues.

        3. My last comment about the amount of consists is still valid. I still believe you cannot run the service with only two consists. There should be at least one spare at the Island. I checked Google Earth and I could see at least four consists and one I am not 100% certain. The image below shows two 3 car configurations in the depot.

          Thanks for your reports Jan!

      • The update really enhances the route! The detail with the flying seagulls I noticed immediately and this makes the scenery appear more alive. Only the tracks on the pier are still a little too rusty and could shine a bit more as trains roll in every day... and finally the missing sun is here too.

Glad you noticed it and enjoying it! And you captured in a really beautiful screenshot!
And all the best for 2021!

      • Found a small bug. In the speedometer HUD the values in the Main reservoir and brake cylinder are mixed up. See image below.
Also, I think the train is acceleration not as fast as it used to do. Is this a bug or intentional?

        • Scotrail156467 There's one 4-car service in one of the scenarios - not a 100% sure which one though.
But when we visited the route in the beginning of 2020, there were only 2-car services active - because the trains are basically falling into pieces. We build the route & gameplay to match the things we surveyed by the beginning this year - that's why.

The AI trains might not have the headlights on in some specific cases, when they sporn before the player train - this also applies for the destination board.

If you built the route to match the things you surveyed, why are the trains not red?

There's a simple answer to this question: Legal issues.
As a payware developer, we simply can't do any liveries/trains we want to - we have to agree with the owners of the design (which is in most cases a train company). I hope that helps understanding why we didn't implemented the Island Line livery.

Once upon a time the 483’s carried a debranded, plain version of the red livery, before south western railway took over

        • Are uses every going to fix the livery editor for your route that uses made IOW and don't say speak to DTG it's nothing to do with them 😡

          • Hi all,

Pretty new to TSW2 however enjoying it a great deal. I have PC and Xbox Series X versions. One thing I am getting frustrated with on the PC version is the sudden FPS drops when the game loads new tiles within the world. I am fortunate enough to be able to achieve 144 FPS throughout most of the game but what really ruins the immersion is the sudden FPS drops which happen. Is there a fix for this?

Hey & welcome to our forums!
Really sorry to hear that you're facing problems with our content, I've never had that problem with frame-drops before or heard about it on PC. Would you mind sharing your PC config with us and let us know if there was a specifc location you had the framedrops?

              Many thanks,
              Jasper

                • That’s good Jasper, hopefully your team will get to work now and update WCL with all the missing scenery and assets. Happy to pay £50 or more for WCL to be transformed from the fictional route it is at the moment to a quality realistic route it should look. If you cannot do it, please pass it over to DTG or even myself, to make it look how it should!!!

                  • We released a fix for the water texture bug on the old IoW yesterday, see here for more information: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/thr...ly-2022.56638/

                    Changelog:

We accidentally filled the ocean with cobwebs for some of our PlayStation users! We have now cleaned up the mess and returned the route to a glistening ocean once again.
                    • Fixed texture to the sea and lakes from West Cornwall Local route

The update will download automatically for owners when it becomes available. Players should allow at least 24 hours after restarting Steam, EPIC Game Store, or their console for the update to appear and before contacting Customer Support.

For our PS5 players, this patch has been delayed, we will update you on this when we have more news.
