With Train Sim World 2, Dovetail Games invented “Collectibles”; items small or large which you can interact with and collect - and because they’re usually a bit hidden, you’ll need to explore the map, discovering beautiful new places.

Here are the collectibles we’ve made for the Arosa Linie:

    The Snowglobes:

The idea for doing these might have resulted from a stroll through the RhB merchandise shop or just the fact that we wanted to include something snowy as a collectible.

But either way, these snow globes are one of our all-time favourites! We’ve gone to town on these, building a little viaduct with (of course) a red train for the inside of the globe. You can find them at Rivet Games stands all around the route. But, be sure to take just one snow globe when approaching the stand!

    Ibex Toy:

What do you typically find running around mountainous landscapes? Correct, mountain goats! In Switzerland, they’re called Ibex - and because you would rarely find an Ibex sitting on a bench and waiting for you to cuddle it, we came up with the wooden Ibex toy.

If you’re approaching an Ibex, it automatically gets collected. We’re really curious to see if you can find all of them, because a few are very well hidden…

    Polaroid Camera:

We brought the Polaroid camera to life on the Isle of Wight route add-on for Train Sim World 2. But, because there are so many beautiful spots along the Arosa Linie, we thought it would suit here as well.

Until it’s collected, the collectible is just a polaroid camera on a tripod. If you’re approaching it, the shutter button gets pressed and you’ll see a picture sticking out of the camera, just like a real world polaroid camera. The picture shows the landscape the camera is looking at, unique to every camera.

    The Route Map:

This is Dovetail Games standard collectible, giving you an overview of the stations along the route. You’ll mostly find them at stations, as you would expect it as a passenger looking for information. With the Arosa Linie featuring some really cool wooden station buildings, we had a few exciting places to place them.

The map is blank until it’s approached - just like you’re the person sticking up the route maps in the place they should be in.

That wall texture for the Ibex isn't looking very healthy...

josephack It's zoomed in on the Ibex, so the wall/texture isn't the focus and it was made during work in progress. But thanks for your feedback.

  • Die Sammelobjekte | Arosa Linie für Train Sim World 2
    by Jasper_Rivet

  • Arosa Line für Train Sim World 2 | Die EW1 Wagen
    by Jasper_Rivet

  • Arosa Line for Train Sim World 2 | The EW1 Coaches
    by Jasper_Rivet
With the Arosa Line now officially announced, we want to share a few more details about what will be included. Today, we’re talking about the coaches.

In order for the Ge 4/4 II to have something to pull, we’re including the “Einheitswagen” (German for “standard wagon”). These passenger coaches built after certain uniform design features from the mid-1960s onwards. For the Arosa Line, we choose the EW1, which is the first generation of these passenger coaches. Because...

  • Some reflections from Iain Mackay - The developer of Suburban Glasgow Northwest

Some reflections from Suburban Glasgow creator Iain Mackay that other Train Simulator content developers may want to consider:
    · One of the requirements for creating a commercial route on Steam is to start working in a “Source” area instead of using pre-compiled assets pointing to several different providers. This also impacts on whether DRM (copy protection) can be implemented. When a route gets released, ideally it will only use one provider and product (i.e., its own)
